Seeking Joy

Joy is all around us, but we have to let it in. In my opinion, the first step to letting it in is recognizing in yourself what gives you joy. Personally, I find joy in love, in laughter, in beauty, and in all things cute, clever, or creative (what I call the 3 Cs). Then, you need to acknowledge when these things give you bursts of happiness so that you can feel grateful for it and recognize it as joy.

I really believe that the more we celebrate and are grateful for the joys we find in our lives, the more we will find to celebrate and be grateful for.

  • Ruby's made-up songs
  • Songs everybody knows
  • The last scene of Dirty Dancing
  • The sky
  • Baby animals
  • Google
  • Heart-shaped rocks
  • Funny (and/or gross) stuff around NYC
  • Baby clothes
  • Catnaps
  • Late afternoon sunlight
