Limitations

There are many limitations to the life I've chosen, but the three main things holding me back on a regular basis are:

Money: Jude's a chef. I work for a nonprofit. We have more than what we need...but not nearly as much as we'd like! Let's be honest. Money may not "buy happiness," but it can sure help!

Time: Jude and I both work full-time. And, for each of us, "full-time" can mean some pretty long and/or strange hours. There are always a million and five things I want to say or do and never enough time for them all to happen. I only sleep for about five hours per night (sometimes less, rarely more).

Space: We live in Los Angeles. I am not a fan of suburbs and I want to live in a neighborhood that excites me...not to mention that has a great public elementary school for Ruby! So, we bought a house that is just a touch over 1000 square feet--a size that could have doubled if we'd been more flexible on the location. Before we moved here, we lived in Brookyn. For the first year-and-a-half of Ruby's life, we lived in a 650-square-foot one-beddy. Because I prioritize loving where I'm living, space is at a premium in my urban life.

So, when I think about things that bring me joy, I inevitably think about things that help me save (or at least don't take too much of) my precious money, time, and space.
